SUPPER SOFT(MEDU) VADAI Recipe | Starters and Snacks Recipe by Sankari |
| INGREDIENTS | Urad dal - 1 cup
Rice - 1tsp
Green chillies - 4
Ginger - ½ inch
Big onion chopped - 1
Salt to taste
Curry leaves - 8 to 10
Oil for deep frying | METHOD | 1. Wash the urad dal and soak for an hour. Soak the rice seperately. Take 1 table spoon of the soaked dal and keep it aside.
2. Drain the water and grind the rest of the dal with rice, green chillies and ginger to a smooth paste without adding water. Mix salt, rest of the urad dhal, onion and curry leaves to the paste.
3. Make small balls and flatten them on your wet palm. Make a small hole in the center. Deep fry the balls in the hot oil till they turn golden brown.
4. Serve hot with coconut chutney or sambhar. This type of vadai won't take much oil and will be crispy outside (because of rice and unground urad dal) and very very soft inside.
